She has passed down to the next generation many German-based recipes which will fondly be remembered for years to come. She was an avid seamstress and sewed many things for the family and others, even her own authentic “dirndil” dress (Oktoberfest).
Her family also remembers her love for flowers, often growing beautiful tiger lilies, gladiolas, tulips, and other colorful blooms in her outside gardens, and many indoor flowers to brighten up the house inside. She would can dozens of jars of her gardens harvest each year, which the family enjoyed for many months. Applesauce, pickles, stewed tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, corn, beans, and more were her specialty.
What will be missed the most, is her spunky spirit, amazing smile, and her love for her family and close friends. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the following in her remembrance: American Cancer Society or St. Jude Hospital.
