Denise M. Wurzburg

Schenectady- Denise Michelle Wurzburg passed away peacefully, at Ellis Hospital, on April 26, 2023. Born in Hudson, NY on March 29, 1976, Denise graduated from Averill Park High School. She continued her studies at Hudson Valley Community College, in Troy. Denise was a long-time resident of Schenectady. Denise will be remembered for being a loving and caring person, who was ultimately a beautiful soul. She loved cats and her family. Although she struggled with her demons, she always had love in her heart and as her final gift to this world she was an organ donor and her spirit will live on in the families she helped. She will be remembered by her family and many friends.

She was pre-deceased by her grandparents, William Wurzburg, Joan Wurzburg and Bessie McCarthy; her parents, Keith Wurzburg (Gloria), and Deborah (McCarthy) Ertel; her brother, Victor Stenowich; her uncle, Kenneth McCarthy; and her cousins, Nicole Wurzburg and Elizabeth Chamberlain. She is survived by her boyfriend Joe Harrington; her sisters, Melissa Wurzburg, Genevieve (Greg) Deyss, and Loraine (Alan) Robichaud; her nephews, Damon (Meghan) Bink and Keith Wurzburg-Ballou; her cousins, William Wurzburg, Edward (Stacey) Wurzburg Jr., and James (Debbie) McCarthy; her aunts, Doris Steinbach, Barbara (late Eddie) Wurzburg, Brenda (late Billy) Wurzburg, Joann (Roger) Crantz and Clairann (Paul) Wurzburg-Mallon.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Denise’s family on Monday, May 1, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, in the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau, NY 12123.

In lieu of flowers, Denise’s family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society or Conifer Park.
