Andrew Klimack

Andrew R. Klimack, 79, of Schodack, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. Born in Rochester, New York, he was the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Klimack. Andy was predeceased by his loving wife Jean F. Klimack.

Andy graduated from St. John Vinanney Minor Seminary in Savannah, Georgia. He went on to work at St. Peters Hospital, MTI and then General Electric doing IT programming and project work. After retiring from GE, he spent several years working at the East Greenbush YMCA.

Andy was an animal lover, travel enthusiast and avid outdoorsman. He was a longtime member of Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club in Poestenkill.

Andy was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He truly loved being involved in his grandchildren's lives. They brought him so much joy. Andy is survived by his children, Stephen (Mary Sarah) Klimack of East Greenbush and Jill Johnson (Mark Valente) of Wallingford, CT; and grandchildren, Thomas and Grace Klimack and Alison and Maci Johnson. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Klimack of Fairport and many loved cousins.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 7, at St. Mary's Church in Nassau. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Greenbush.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Albany for their dedicated and compassionate care.
