Barbara J. Otterbeck, 83, of Nassau passed away March 25, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Barbara was the daughter of the late Gunnar and Evelyn (Adams) Granfors and sister of the late Arthur and Joann. In her younger years Barbara loved to swim and was very proud of the fact that she was a lifeguard. She was a very artistic person who loved arts and crafts and could bake and cook with the best of them.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Herman Otterbeck. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Nancy) Granfors of Nassau, Brian (Martha) Otterbeck of MA and Dett (Julie) Otterbeck of Nassau, grandchildren, Brett, Bradley, Nicholas, Corey, Sarah, Chloe, and Zachary.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Those who wish to remember Barbara in a special way may make a donation in her name to the American Heart Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff on the fourth floor at Albany Memorial for all of their care and compassion during this difficult time.
