Benjamin H. Sears

Valatie- Benjamin H. Sears, 84, of Valatie passed away peacefully at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation on Friday, January 3, 2025. Ben was born on January 6, 1940, in Huntington, New York to the late Mildred Bloxom and Albert Sears. He was married to Lois VanNatten, who survives. Ben spent his professional career as a paper worker at Fort Orange Paper Company in Castleton, NY. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Ben spent lots of time with his family traveling the country in his RV. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Judith Pechtel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Benjamin D. (Anja) Sears and Michael L. Sears; his grandchildren, Corey, Jessica, and Kayleigh; his great-grandson, Dominic; as well as two nephews and a niece and numerous cousins.

At the family's request, services will be held privately. Inurnment will take place privately in North Chatham Cemetery, in the spring.
