Catherine B. (Jill) Root died June 27, 2011. She was born May 5, 1927, in Red Wing, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harlan D. Root, Brainard, New York, and four children: Susan B. Kiker, San Antonio, Texas, David F. Root (Laurie), Dallas, Texas, Julie A. Root, St. Paul, Minnesota, and William B. Root (Monica), Red Wing, Minnesota, and six grandchildren: Travis and Laura Kiker, Mason and Nelson Root, and Madison and Kaden Erie, Red Wing, Minnesota. The family will have a ceremony celebrating Jill's life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Chatham, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sierra Club.
