Deborah Ertel

Ertel, Deborah M. Nassau- Deborah M. Ertel (McCarthy), 64, of Nassau formerly of Sunset Beach, NC passed away at Albany County Nursing Home on April 13, 2018 with her family by her side. Deborah was born February 17, 1954 with her surviving brother Kenneth J. McCarthy to the late James J. McCarthy Sr. and Bessie (Stott) McCarthy. She was the caretaker for a gentleman name Ernest until she was unable to care for him in 2017. Deborah is predeceased by her husband John F. Ertel, brother James J. McCarthy Jr.; sister, Patricia J. Lennon. Surviving relatives include; sister, Doris Steinbach; brother, Kenneth McCarthy; daughters, Melissa E. Wurzburg and Denise M. Wurzburg; grandchildren Keith K. Wurzburg-Ballou and Breanna J. Bink. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Thursday April 19 from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by a Eulogy. Interment will be in the Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Deborah's memory be made to your local battered woman and drug treatment facilities.
