Donald Charles Winters, 93, of Inverness FL, died Sept. 30, 2013, under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Donald was born June 2, 1920, in Nassau, N.Y. to the late Charles G. and Jeannette (Groat) Winters. He served our country in the United States Air Force. Donald was employed by the Department of Defense as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed playing his guitar, was a sports car and ham operator enthusiast. He was an excellent card player and enjoyed playing cards with his many friends. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Linda (Nilson) Sabadin, of Clearwater FL, Donna (Paul) Vanasse, of Rumney NH, Susan (Rap) Rappold, of Castleton N.Y., Karen Winters (Michael Morris) of Dedham MA; stepdaughter, Barbara (John) Baker, of Inverness FL; his sister, Eleanor Aldridge, of Olive Branch MS; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Dorothy Winters; his second wife, Eugenia Winters; daughter, Faye Domestico; brother, Stanley Winters; and sister, Jean Montross. Private services were previously held.
