Brainard- Frank Russell Hamilton, Jr. passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Born in Hudson, New York on June 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Frank R. "Russell" Hamilton and Louise Cowan. Frank shared 69 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary (Hatch) Hamilton. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in nature and in the simple pleasures of being outside.
Frank proudly served his community as a member of the Tsatsawassa Fire Company for more than 50 years and worked as a Foreman with Local #190 in Glenmont, New York. He will be remembered for his steady love for family, strong work ethic, and lifelong spirit of service.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, George, Roy (Ginny), and Peter Hamilton and Joyce (Raymond) Evans; his grandson, Nollan Tryon; and his brother-in-law, Ernest Chartrand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Daisy (Dan) Blair and Lisa A. (Lyle) Hadley; grandchildren, Aliza, Jesse, Myles, and Hannah; four great-grandchildren; his brothers, Richard (Brenda) Hamilton and Roger Hamilton; his sister, Adelaide Chartrand; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Hamilton.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Frank's family prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will take place in East Nassau Cemetery, Garfield Rd. East Nassau, NY.
Frank's family wishes to thank their dear friends, who will also be Frank's pallbearers, the Tsatsawassa Fire Company, and the Hoags Corners Ambulance for their care and compassion of both Frank and his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the Tsatsawassa Fire Company or the Hoags Corners Ambulance.
