Gail A. Neal, 74, of Nassau passed away on February 11, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Kenmore N.Y. to the late Chester and Beverly Meinzer she had been a resident of Nassau for the last 18 years. Gail was the Treasurer and Sunday School Director of St. Francis Mission in Albany and a volunteer at Free To Be Me Rescue. Gail found her happiness in making everyone around her happy. There was not a person or an animal that Gail's love did not touch. Through her love, cooking, hard work and endless energy, she never stopped. She raised 4 children on her own. As they blossomed into their own lives she co- founded Healthy Pet Center 19 years ago. If she wasn't assisting in some way at one of the three stores, you could find her in her garden cultivating her plants or spoiling her little Joey. We all knew the fruits of her labor would end up in one of her delicious meals. To put it simply, Gail was the best mother, grandmother and companion we all could have asked for.
Gail is survived by her son James Neal; daughters, Kelly Vincent, Lisa Neal and Christa Sharkey; grandchildren, Kyle and Brittany Vincent, Connor, Cara, Hannah and Makenna Sharkey, Cerin and Shaye Neal, Brian and Michelle LaCrosse. Funeral service Thursday Feb. 18 at St. Francis Mission, 498 Clinton Ave. Albany NY at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Wednesday Feb. 17 from 5:00-8:30PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
