East Nassau- Joseph A. Marcello, Jr., 81, of East Nassau, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Rose (Gintole) and Joseph A. Marcello Sr. He was married in 1976 to Irene Denaker and has lived in East Nassau since that time. Joe was a dispatcher for H.V. Rabouin Inc. in Hancock, MA for many years. Some of Joe’s passions were to garden and cook, though he never shared his recipes. He also enjoyed going fishing and telling stories. Joe was active in Charlie’s Pantry at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in New Lebanon and the Lebanon Valley Knights of Columbus Council #9639.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his sons; Joseph (Leona Hall) Marcello III and Justin Marcello, his daughters; Sallieanne Bott and Christina (Jacob Beckwith) Marcello, his brother; George Marcello, his grandchildren; Ashley (Joseph Saviano), Christopher, Troy (Danielle LaBelle), Katelynn, Jolieanna, Joycelynn, and Shianne, as well as six great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2023, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 732 US Route 20 New Lebanon, NY 12125. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joe’s family from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2023, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123.
