Karen B. Hatch, 75, of East Nassau, passed away at home on September 5, 2026. Karen was born in Stuyvesant, NY, to the late Howard and Alma Bashford. Prior to her retirement she worked for the New York State Office of Audit and Control. After retiring she held positions at McDonald's and was employed as a teacher's aide within the Chatham and Averill Park School Districts. Karen was a huge Elvis fan and could often be heard listening to his music. She enjoyed swimming in the ocean, especially in Cape Cod, and took a yearly trip to Zume Flume to relax in the lazy river.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Clifford Hatch; son, Clifford Hatch, Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor and Lexi Hatch; siblings, Peter Bashford, Patricia Shaff, and Dodie Krambeck. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many close friends who will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Lenny, Bobby, and Larry Bashford.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, on Thursday, September 10, from 4-7pm. There will be a graveside service held at a later date.
