Nassau- Kurt L. Vincent, 68, of Nassau passed away on May 25, 2025, following a brief illness. Born to the late Harry R. Vincent, Sr. and Lois M. (Berninger) Vincent, Kurt was a lifelong resident of Nassau.
Kurt was known by many for his friendly and helpful nature. He dedicated much of his life to community service. He was the past President of the Village of Nassau Historical Society, member of the Nassau Preservation Committee, Village of Nassau Historian, immediate past president of the German American Club in Albany, leader of the German American band, 33 year leader of the Nassau East Greenbush Community Band, leader of the Bavarian Barons Band which was started by his father, Chair of the Nassau Beautification Committee and was instrumental in helping to erect the gazebo in the Village of Nassau Commons.
Kurt was also very active in the Grace United Methodist Church, in Nassau, where he was the former Chair of Staff Parish, was active in the Nassau Interfaith Group and worked for inclusion within the church and beyond. Kurt had a passion for cooking and everything German. He was the former Chef for Governor's Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo, and most recently was in charge of planning events for the Plaza, in Albany. Kurt put on the Friday night dinners at the German American Club and would purchase the food, cook the food and serve the food. He loved everything German, from the culture to the food and the history. He would vacation in Germany every other year and enjoyed every experience he had there.
In addition to his parents, Kurt was predeceased by his brother, Harry R. Vincent, Jr. He is survived by his cousins, Larry (Lauren) Vincent and Diane Brennan Vincent.
A funeral service for Kurt will take place at the Grace United Methodist Church, 42 Church St. Nassau, NY 12123 on Friday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
