Hosley, Linda Joy

Schodack - Linda Joy (Allen) Hosley, 65, of Schodack, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 15, 2013, just days short of her 66th birthday. She was born in Brattleboro, VT the daughter of Alberta (Whittemore) Allen and the late Richard Allen. She graduated from Greenfield High School in Greenfield, MA and went on to McCann Vocational School in North Adams, MA where she completed a one year medical assistant program and where she met the love of her life, Bruce, devoted husband of 45 years.

Linda had a special heart and an infectious bright spirit that touched so many lives. Linda worked for several medical offices in the area, but most of all she enjoyed being a care giver. Her nurturing nature helped out family and friends during times of illness and she especially loved taking care of her beloved grandchildren. She loved family gatherings, entertaining, and traveling with family and friends.

She was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. However, she will be remembered most for organizing and hosting theme oriented church coffee hours.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughters Rochelle Hosley (Debbie Pariseau), and Kristin Taylor (Stephen) both of Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren Grace May and Madelyn Elizabeth Taylor; sisters Kathryn Hassell (Donald) of League City, TX, Patricia Maleno (Frank) of Greenfield, MA, Barbara Rawson of Washington, MA, and Michele Pratt (Jeffrey) of Bernardston, MA; brother Richard Allen Jr. (Jean) of Canton, MI; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend "Linda's Celebration of Life" at 11 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 (her birthday) at Grace United Methodist Church in Nassau, NY. Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street, Nassau, NY.
