Lois Jean Laier, 85, of Malden Bridge passed away October 18, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rensselaer she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret (Schilling) Brown, stepdaughter of the late Grant Babcock and loving wife of 62 years to the late Frederick D. Laier. Before moving to Malden Bridge in 1992 Lois had resided in East Nassau since 1948. She had worked as a secretary for the New Lebanon Central School District as well as a tax collector for the district and upon retirement she became a secretary for the Shaker Museum and Library. Lois had been a local Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas W. (Lenore) Laier of East Nassau and Stephen F. (Colleen) Laier of East Nassau, daughters, Mary Ann (Mame) Hunt of Albany and Susan E. Laier of Malden Bridge, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Earl C. Brown.

Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, Tuesday October 22nd at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Interment, East Nassau Cemetery.
