Mary E. Herrick
Pittsfield
1928-2013 Pittsfield After a brave battle with cancer, Mary Elizabeth Herrick, 85, of Rose Manor, Pittsfield, joined our Heavenly Father and her very much missed previously passed loved ones and friends on June 8, 2013.
Mary was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 20, 1928, and was the only daughter of the late Austin and Geneva Paff.
Mary led a full life; her greatest joy being the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Aside from spending time with family, she enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500 (picking the first place winner this year-"darn, can't believe I didn't place a bet"), reading, crocheting, playing bingo, and competing in board games, her favorites of which were Scrabble and Yahtzee. An avid Days of Our Lives viewer since its inception in 1965, she could always engage in conversation with her daughter Ginny and banter with her daughter Wanda and name every character and their associated motives throughout the years. Her granddaughters would also attest that she made the best tuna/noodle casserole.
She will be missed very much by her partner and love of her life, Roy A. Herrick, Sr., her two beloved daughters - Ginny Bingham of Lebanon, NY, and Wanda Lindsey, of Pittsfield, MA, and her beloved son, Roy A. Herrick, Jr., of Berlin, NY, as well as their partners. Her loss will also be felt by not only her brothers, Jack and George Paff of Indianapolis, IN, but also by her very much cherished grandchildren and their partners, David, Gary, Lance, Julie, Diedra, and Kera, her great-and great-great- grandchildren and friends for life Jean and Gerry Bargie and Helen Loomis.
Mary is predeceased by two brothers Lenny and Junior Paff, as well as a beloved son-in-law Claude Bingham, and two granddaughters, Carolyn and Karen Bingham. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thank you to HospiceCare in the Berkshires and Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility for not only the warm/loving care provided to Mary throughout her unexpected/ brief battle with cancer, but also for all the compassion and thoughtfulness given to all her family during this very difficult time. At the request of Mary, a memorial service will be held for the immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
