Mary Martel

Mary "Vicky" Martel, 76, of Nassau passed away on Feb. 20, 2017 surrounded by loving family. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Ken and Mary Akins. Vicky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was seen as a mother to all. She loved animals especially her dogs Sadie and Mimi. Mrs. Martel was a member of the Nassau Hose Company Code 100 Team and member of the former Nassau Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary. Vicky gave her husband Paul 50 years of wonderful memories and two great kids. She is survived by her loving husband Gene Paul Martel; son, Daniel P. (Regina) Martel; daughter, Shay (William) Glodny; grandchildren, Ashley, Alesha and Anika Germond; great grandchildren, Hunter Germond and Connor Warner. She was predeceased by her daughter Lynne. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church in Nassau on Saturday at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm. Interment will be in the Nassau-Schodack Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Vicki's memory may be made to the Nassau Hose Company Code 100 Team, P.O.
