Michael H. Miaski

Nassau- Michael H. Miaski, 80, of Nassau, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born in Albany on January 3, 1946, to the late Joseph P. Miaski Sr. and Dorothy Houser Miaski. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. After receiving an honorable discharge, Mike spent his career working in maintenance for the State of New York.

Alongside his brother Joe, Mike operated Miaski Brothers for many years. What began as a vegetable farming operation later grew into a Christmas tree farm. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also loved spending time with his beloved wife, Kathleen, including visits to their favorite casinos.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Gunn) Miaski; his daughters, Michelle (George) Duryea and Tina Gentile; his grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, Emma, and Piper; his sister, Janet (Danny) Statile; his sister-in-law, Barbara Miaski; and his brother-in-law, Al Van Nederynen.

In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Miaski Jr.; and his sisters, Barbara (Sebastian) Cruisce, Marlene (William) Murphy, Patricia (Aldo) Console, Vivian (Thomas) Gallagher, Dorothy Van Nederynen, and Shirley (Ted) Bohnet.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mike's family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. At 6:00 p.m. military honors will be bestowed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to The Community Hospice.
