Pamela Hammell

Castleton- On Sunday, August 18, 2024, Pamela I. Hammell, a beloved daughter, sister, and mother, passed away at the age of 64. Pamela was born on April 7, 1960, to Laura and the late William Sturm, Jr. After graduating from Columbia High School in 1978, she went on to study Japanese and then cosmetology at Colona Beauty School. After graduating and getting her cosmetology license she was a hair stylist then moved on to working for the state for a little over 31 years. In 2021, Pamela retired and spent her time with loved ones, going to concerts, gardening, doing puzzles, listening to records, and going to thrift sales. She also loved to paint, crochet, and cook. She was also great at fixing things herself.

Pamela was predeceased by her beloved father, William Sturm, Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Brittany Hammell (fiancé, Adam Zielnicki) and Eric Hammell (wife, Jackie Hammell); eight grandchildren; her mother, Laura (Teal) Sturm; two sisters, Deb Danserau (husband, Robert Danserau) and Michelle Sweet; her brother, William Sturm III, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly. All of those she loved and touched deeply.
