Patricia Baltzel
Nassau
Patricia Baltzel, 79, of Nassau passed away October 2, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Auburn NY she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Talbot) Heath, and loving wife of the late C. Stanton Baltzel. Patricia, once a Registered Nurse at Auburn Memorial Hospital, started her family in Binghamton where she resided until 1964. She lived locally in Delmar for many years before moving to Nassau in 1978. She was an active communicant of St. Mary's Church in Nassau and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Lovingly known as St. Mary's "linen lady", Pat made sure that the linens were pressed and spotless each Sunday. She was an avid bird and flower lover, with a keen ability to identify even the most unusual species. She was a devoted hockey mom (up until the boys were able to check), and she loved to read. She will be missed greatly by all of her family and friends, including her beloved wild birds who she fed with incredible devotion.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Gregory C. (Patricia) Baltzel, Charles R. (Kalee) Baltzel and Glenn D. (Annie Harrigan) Baltzel, sister, Nancy Lepak and brother, Paul Heath of Auburn NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jenna and Courtney Baltzel, Deaglan and Tiernan Baltzel, Kalesha and Allison Davis and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, on Church St. in Nassau on Saturday October 5th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Saturday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
