Patricia C. Tomchik

East Nassau- Patricia C. Tomchik, 92, of East Nassau, entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the peace of her home and the love of her family.

Born on August 24, 1932, she was the cherished daughter of the late John J. McLaughlin Sr. and Helen V. Owens. A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Patricia lived a life grounded in faith, love, and service to others.

Patricia was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Nassau for many years. Her deep devotion to the Blessed Mother was expressed through her membership in the Rosary Altar Society, where she found joy and purpose in prayer and parish life. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life and a source of strength in both joyful and sorrowful times.

She was a woman of quiet grace and enduring faith, whose love for reading reflected her reflective spirit. Above all, Patricia found her greatest joy in supporting and nurturing her family, especially her children, in all their endeavors.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Tomchik; her dear son, James Tomchik; her brother, John J. McLaughlin Jr.; and her parents.

She is survived by her children, John (Heather) Tomchik, Daniel Tomchik, Patricia (David) DiCarlo, Jeanne (late Paul) Cote; her sister, Marie Risko; her daughter in law, Vicki Tomchik; her 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Patricia's family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at St. Mary's Church, 26 Church St. Nassau, NY 12123. Interment will immediately follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery, Route 203 Nassau, NY 12123.
