Paul Roland Carpenter originally of Nassau, NY passed away January 13, 2017 at his home in Sahuarita, AZ among loved ones. Paul was born December 5, 1940 to Roland and Esther (Bailey) Carpenter. As a young man, he excelled in auto mechanics, dairy farming, baseball, and track. Paul graduated from Columbia High School, East Greenbush NY, in 1959.



Paul enlisted in the US Air Force in 1962, earned the rank of Sergeant and commendations in maintenance support of the Titan II missile program of the Strategic Air Command, based at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Tuscon, AZ.



In 1966 Paul was employed by the Otis Elevator Company and became a Master Mechanic during a 33 year career, nearly all of which was construction and maintenance of the elevators in Albany, NY's Corning Tower Building. He also was repair and maintenance for Fashion Care, East Greenbush, NY.



Paul and Joan were married on October 18, 1986 and resided in East Greenbush, NY until September 2011 at which time they moved to Sahuarita, AZ.



Paul is survived by wife, Joan Fross Carpenter; sister, Lorraine (Ted) Chute; brother Rev. Bruce (Judy) Carpenter; son Scott (Karen) Carpenter; daughter Colleen (Kevin) Rice; step-daughters Michele (Tim) Clarke; Kathy (George) Furko; Lisa (Ralph) Chiariello; grandchildren, Cory and Devin Carpenter; T.J., Bradley (Kaylee), Dylan, David, Meghan, Emily, Brendan, Logan Clarke; Amanda (D.J) Wilkins; Rebecca and Alana Cronce; Vinny Spagnola; Molly and Leia Chiariello; and many nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by grandson Tyler Woelfersheim, and nephew Brian Chute.



A memorial service will be held at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau NY on March 31, 2017 at 4:00pm. All are invited to attend. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be offered at mooneyfuneralhome.com
