Nassau - Ronald L. Brandow, 67, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Charlene (Stinney) Brandow, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Albany, Ronald was the twelfth child of the late Jack and Eva (Brito) Brandow. He graduated from Linton High School and went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His career in computer engineering included positions at RPI, General Electric, and numerous contracts that brought him to projects across the country, including in Iowa, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.

Ronald was an avid bowler who competed in local, state, and national tournaments. He bowled with the Misfits, Ups and Downs Mixed League, Stan Hotailing League, and Chatham Independent leagues and cherished the friendships formed there. He was also very involved with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts during the twelve years that his son Kristofer participated holding the positions of Cub Master and Scout Master. At home, he found joy in building computers, working in his garage, tending to his gardens, constructing sheds for his many tools and equipment, and decorating his driveway with lights.

He will be remembered for his boundless knowledge, sharp wit, and his ability to hold his own in any conversation on subjects he was passionate about.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Charlene; his children, Jocelyn of New Hampshire and Kristofer of New York City; his sisters, Rose (late Peter) Harrell of Schenectady, Betty Cheeks of Schenectady, Barbara (James) Williams of Colonie, Frances Jeffress of Florida, Jacqueline (late Aaron) Clindinin of Pattersonville, Charmaine (Lamont) Truttling of Glenville, and Dolores (late Claude) Joyner of Maryland; his brothers, Robert (Marie) Brandow and Jack (Vickie) Brandow, both of Schenectady; his sisters-in-law, Nadine Washington of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sharon Hawkins of Utica. He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Cecilia (late Robert) Henderson and Linda Brandow.
