Newark, NY- Sara Cameron, 57, of Newark, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at her home. She was born on June 5, 1969, in Albany, New York. She was a strong, determined woman who faced life with a strength that was both physical and mental, a sassy attitude that made her unmistakably herself, and a heart that was always centered around her family.
A farm girl at heart, Sara carried a little piece of her childhood with her throughout her life. Anyone who knew her knew about her love of cows, which could be found decorating her home. Her favorite color was purple, and country music was never far from her heart. She had her own way of doing things, her own opinions, and a personality that could never be mistaken for anyone else's.
Of all the roles Sara held in her life, being a mother was one she cherished deeply. But if there was one thing she loved even more, it was being a grandma. Her grandchildren brought her a special kind of happiness, and they held an irreplaceable place in her heart. They were a tremendous part of her world, and the love she had for them will live on in the memories they carry of her.
Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen Cameron Sr.; her children, Samantha Cameron, Stephen (Ashley) Cameron, Scott (Katherine) Duncan, Sherry Cleveland; her cherished grandchildren, Connor, Kaden, Arianna, Noah, Cheyenne, Emma, Zoey, Chloe, Joseph, Cielo, Madalyn, Carly, Mia, and Nathan; and her siblings, Michael Duncan, Victor Duncan, Beverly Sisler, Virginia Robinson, Ruth Cleveland, Linda Utter, and Valerie Lamphere.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Volney and Leila Duncan; her siblings, Barbara Carpenter and Volney Duncan Jr.; her best friend, Jodie Brown; and her granddaughter, Claire Duncan.
Sara leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love, her strength, her spirited personality, and the memories that made her one of a kind. Her home, her laughter, her love of country music, her cow treasures, and her unmistakable sass will remain part of the stories her family shares for years to come.
Though saying goodbye is something her family never wanted to face, the love Sara gave them does not end here. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a wife, and a woman whose strength and personality left a lasting mark on the people fortunate enough to know and love her.
