Chatham Center- William H. Boyle, III, unexpectedly passed away in Chatham Center, NY on August 17, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1943, in Saranac Lake, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife Christel, and by his parents William H. (II) and Beatrice (Skiff) Boyle of Nassau, and his siblings, Mary Willis and Tim Boyle of Nassau. He is survived by his siblings, Douglas and Pat Boyle and family (Doug, Tim, Steve, & Tricia and their families), Patricia Williams, Linda and Mark Davis, and Judy Boyle.

William is also survived by his three children and families, Manfred and Lynne Boyle, Patrick and Melissa Boyle, and Beatrice Sage. Also survived by his grandchildren, Katie & Dennis Miller, Danielle Boyle, Scott Boyle, and Cody Sage. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Levi & Riley Miller.

William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who had a love for woodcraft which he shared with Christel as they created many things together, leveraging her love for painting and decorating. He is renown for his huge portfolio of stories, and advice giving to the younger generations. William attended Columbia High School before joining the US Army in 1962, where he trained as a Special Forces (Green Beret) demolitions expert, serving in the Vietnam War and the Berlin Brigade. After completing his military service, he was a New York State Trooper before becoming a life-long truck driver, as an independent and logistics company driver. He hauled everything from farm feed, milk, oil & gasoline, steel, and all kinds of products within single and double-boxed trailers. He received his million-mile award and over his driving career many safety awards before retiring. Up through his early retirement he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, especially up north in New York, near where he was born.

His joy was his family extending beyond the bounds of traditional. He gained the love and admiration of his beloved care takers Cassie and Lucy and their families. Including Kevin and his son Patrick. He loved each of you.

A funeral service will be held for William on Saturday, August, 30, 10:00 a.m., at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with William's family on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Inurnment will immediately follow the service in Chatham Center Cemetery.

William and Christel both held a passion for supporting St. Jude Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations in their name to St. Jude's in support of their mission "Finding Cures. Saving Children."
