Niverville- William H. Murphy II, 83 of Niverville passed away Thursday at the Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy. He was the son of the late William H. and Anna Margaret Gazaw Murphy. Mr. Murphy was predeceased by his loving wife Marlene Ann Murphy.
William resided in Port Henry for 18 years and in Nassau for 19 years before moving to Niverville. William was a lifelong truck driver and most recently had driven for Dorn's Transportation in Albany prior to retiring. William was a dedicated father, an avid fisherman and a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Marines. He also enjoyed puzzling and collecting coins.
Mr. Murphy is survived by: two sons, William J. Murphy of Dublin, Ireland and Thomas E. Murphy of Averill Park; four daughters, Mary Anne Dyer of Warrenton VA, Irene Kallner of Glenmont, Gloria Hilton of Delmar and Patricia Murphy of Nassau; a sister, Jean DeLorenzo of Augusta GA. Mr. Murphy is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with two more on the way. Mr. Murphy was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia Proctor of Ocala, FL and his sister Mary VanWormer of Castleton..
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau NY on Tuesday 4-6pm. A Funeral service will follow at 6pm.
