Winifred Mills

Winifred A. Mills, 59, of Nassau passed away on January 14, 2017 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany, she was raised in Brooklyn and had been a local resident for almost 30 years. Winnie was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to travel and spend time at Chinese auctions. Winnie was a member of the Nassau American Legion post 1268 Ladies Auxiliary and ran many of their Chinese auctions. She is survived by her parents John and Louise Bascome; daughters, Crystal Atherholt (Matthew) and Holly Mills (Dan Garhartt); brother, John Bascome and five grandchildren. Funeral from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 4-7pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
